Larrasoana

It's dark. I lie in my sleeping bag and am feeling unpleasantly cold. I'm wide-awake. It is time for the walk to begin. It didn't take many minutes until I had use for my flashlight, which really was put in the bag as an afterthought. It gets dark in the forest before dawn.

I've walked 28 km today. The landscape meets imagination and expectation. Quiet forest covered mountains, sunrise in the morning mist over the valley. Walking along sparsely forested ridges, into dense forests, across dried up streams and over historic bridges.

I made it. I arrived. I got a bed. I have lost faith in the idea of stockpiling cheese in my backpack. I do not regret for a second that I started my vacation by getting up at 6 am.
